Meniscus Tears

A Meniscus Tear occurs when the meniscus (wedge-shaped strong cartilage that cushions the knee joint) is torn due to a hard twisting or rotation of the knee. Sudden Meniscus Tears sound like a pop and most likely can happen to an athlete or person playing sports. Older people can also be affected by degenerative Meniscal Tears that occur due to cartilage weakening and thinning. Symptom include pain, stiffness, swelling and not being able to extend the knee fully.
