Chronic Tendon Disease

Are repetitive injuries causing you chronic pain and you’ve tried everything such as pain medication, rest, acupuncture, compression braces, and cortisone injections? Whether it’s affecting your elbow, feet, hip, knee or shoulder, you are one of the many millions of people dealing with Chronic Tendon Disease.  If your tendon pain is acute, your doctor will typically diagnosis it as tendonitis and recommend the typical treatments of R.I.C.E (Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation), non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (ie Motrin/Aleve), or physical therapy.  However, if your tendon pain becomes chronic due to repeated repetitive movements, that caused micro tears and degeneration or acute tendon overload with tears in the tendon thereby requiring a higher level of treatment, there are treatment options beyond surgery.

TX MicroTip with Tenex Health TX®

The Tenex Health TX® technology was developed in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic in order to relieve Chronic Tendon Disease with a minimally invasive procedure and insure a quicker recovery time.  By using the TX MicroTip with the Tenex Health TX® technology, the physician is able to make a microincision in the precise area that is injured with the help of ultrasound imaging.  The TX MicroTip removes the degenerative/damaged tissue (instead of the surgical and arthroscopy procedures that are usually prescribed) in the physician’s office with only a local anesthetic.  Because the surrounding healthy tissues are not affected, the patient does not need stitches (just a band aid to cover the microincision) and can experience fast pain relief as well as minimal downtime.  As with these types of treatments, you must follow your doctor’s orders and take care to rest for a few days afterwards.  Usually there is no weight bearing activities for two weeks aftert the procedure if performed in the leg.  Depending on the patient as well as how extensive the tendon damage is, individual results will vary.  However, on average, patients usually are able to get back to their normal activities in 6-8 weeks.

Tenex Health TX® has been clinically proven to be effective in 85% + patients and is FDA approved. To learn more, please go to the Tenex Health TX® website.
